AlayaCare Name Changer is a free Chrome add-on developed by Matt Walsh. Designed specifically for aged care providers using the AlayaCare client management system, this add-on aims to enhance client management by adding titles and preferred names to client profiles.
Currently, AlayaCare users need to navigate to individual client pages to view the title and preferred name of each client. AlayaCare Name Changer streamlines this process by automatically opening a new Chrome tab when a client page is accessed. The add-on then retrieves the client's title and preferred name before closing the tab and updating the client name header on the current page. For example, if the displayed name was "James Smith," the add-on may update it to "Mr James (Jim) Smith" if "Jim" is the client's preferred name.
One of the key advantages of AlayaCare Name Changer is its caching feature. Once a client's name has been updated, the add-on stores this information, eliminating the need for future tab openings and significantly improving page loading times. The cache remains active until all instances of Google Chrome are closed.
AlayaCare Name Changer also handles data duplication gracefully. If a preferred name has been mistakenly entered in both the client's first name field and the preferred name field, the add-on will omit the duplication. Instead of displaying "Mr James (Jim) (Jim) Smith," it will correctly show "Mr James (Jim) Smith." However, if the preferred name in the first name field differs from the one in the preferred name field, both names will be displayed, alerting AlayaCare CMS officers to the data inconsistency.
